Doubt it is your tracks and not heard of any firmware bugs causing this. Wad it ok before firnware update? You might try downgrading

Maybe you can buy a cheap USB based hard drive caddy to test it. Once done, you can use your old drive in there as a portable drive.

There's no debugging you can turn on that I know off. Thew page you linked to is not written in a language I can read, so I have no idea of the specs. So it sounds like it was the Pacemaker or the firmware on it at fault. if it's still the same, try the same firmware that's on your new unit.

Don't think it's a known issue. If you have Windows you could try my PMExplorer app and the "retrieve tracks" feature to pull your music off the device onto pc and rename then from the cryptic hex filenames to real filenames based on the mp3 tag info at the same time. You can also do it in batches, ...
