Compact Flash harddrive replacement

I found a 256GB CF, but it was around $400 USD. That seems a bit much. They do have 128GB ones as well.

Ssd might be better when write operations are required, but is it the case with a PMD if you are not recording mixes?
The other thing I can't find an answer to is, which is more power savvy SSS or cf card?
