Windows users can try the PMUpdater utility to upgrade firmware. If for some reason this doesn't work for some reason, or you are a Mac/Linux user, or if you need to downgrade firmware (PMUpdater doesn't do this as you could have database compatibility issues), then you will need to do this manually...

From your initial statement I would have said you have disturbed another connection during the refit. But then you say you are in DFU mode (whatever that is).
